These terms apply to anyone who lists an event or a vessel on EventSeas, sells tickets through it, takes bookings through it, or uses our Host an Event service. They are in addition to our Terms of use, and where they differ for hosts and operators, these win.
Listing is free
Listing an event or a vessel costs nothing. You may keep using your own ticket link or sales platform. Fees apply only if you choose to sell tickets through EventSeas.
Your listings
- You must have the right to list what you list, and to use every picture, name and description you upload.
- Keep the dates, prices, location, what is included, age limits and accessibility details accurate and current. Mark an event as Adult if it is for guests 18 or over.
- You are responsible for your event or vessel: its safety, permits, insurance, staff, and compliance with the law. EventSeas is not the organiser or the operator.
- A first listing may be reviewed before it goes live, and we may unpublish or remove any listing that is misleading, unsafe or breaks our rules.
Claiming a listing
Some listings are posted by EventSeas and can be claimed by the people who run them. To claim one you must be able to show that you represent the event or vessel, for example with a business email on its own domain and proof such as a document. We approve or reject each claim, and may ask for more. Once approved, the listing and its responsibilities are yours.
Selling tickets through EventSeas
- Payments run on your own Stripe account. You connect or create one and agree to Stripe’s terms. Buyers’ payments go to you, and you are the seller of the tickets.
- Stripe’s processing fees are charged to you by Stripe.
- The EventSeas fee is 99 cents per paid ticket. You pay it, so buyers pay exactly the price you list. Free tickets carry no fee, and the fee can never be more than the ticket price. The minimum price for a paid ticket is 2.00. We will tell you before changing these fees.
- Taxes such as sales tax or VAT are your responsibility. EventSeas does not collect or pay them for you.
- Payouts are made by Stripe to you, on Stripe’s schedule. We do not hold your money.
- Adult events may only use an external ticket link or a free RSVP. They cannot sell tickets through EventSeas.
Refunds and cancellations
Choose a refund policy for each event and stick to it. It is shown to buyers before they pay. If you cancel an event, you must refund the full ticket price to every ticket holder. You issue refunds from your sales page, for a whole order or for individual tickets. A whole-order refund also returns the EventSeas fee to you; a partial refund does not. Tickets that have been checked in cannot be refunded there. Disputes and chargebacks are yours to resolve with the buyer and Stripe, and a lost dispute voids the tickets. See the Refund policy.
Attendee information
You will see the names and emails of people who buy tickets or RSVP. Use them only to run and communicate about that event, protect them as you would your own customers’ details, and follow the privacy laws that apply to you. Do not add attendees to marketing lists unless they have agreed.
Vessel operators and bookings
- EventSeas records booking dates and requests. It does not take payment. Any deposit, price, contract or cancellation fee is between you and the guest, and your booking terms on the vessel page should say so clearly.
- Keep your calendar accurate. Dates you block or have booked cannot be booked again, and a confirmed instant booking is a commitment to the guest.
- Reply to requests within the response time shown on your vessel (48 hours unless you set another). If you do not, the request lapses and the dates are freed.
Host an Event service
If you send a Host an Event inquiry, we may contact you to discuss your idea and match you with ships. Sending one commits neither of us to anything. Planning terms, costs and responsibilities are agreed in writing before anything is booked.
Conduct
Hosts and operators follow the Community guidelines too. Promote your event in the right Crew, say plainly that you are the host, and do not mislead people or contact them in ways they have not asked for.
Responsibility
You are an independent business or individual, not an employee, partner or agent of EventSeas. You agree to cover EventSeas against claims, losses and costs that arise from your event, your vessel or your listing, except where we caused them. EventSeas’s liability to you is limited as set out in the Terms of use.
Ending these terms
You can unpublish a listing or delete your account at any time. Deleting your account unpublishes your listings. We may suspend or remove listings or accounts that break these terms. Obligations that have already arisen, such as refunds owed to ticket holders and bookings already confirmed, continue afterwards.
Changes and contact
We will tell you before we change these terms in a way that matters. Questions? Contact us.
