A first-time host’s guide to bringing a group on board

1 min read

Hosting an event at sea is closer to organising a festival than a holiday. You bring the guests. The ship brings the venue, the food and the view. The work in the middle is logistics, and it is very doable.

Know your numbers

Start with a realistic guest count and a budget range. Ships and operators price groups very differently, and the first conversation is easier when you can say how many people and roughly what they will spend.

Choose dates with flexibility

Shoulder-season dates are cheaper and quieter. If your group can move by a week, say so. It opens up more ships and better cabin blocks.

Plan the programme early

Sea days are your stage. Sketch the sessions, meetups and downtime before you talk to the ship so the venue spaces you ask for match what you will actually run.

Let us help

Not sure where to start? Tell us about your idea on the Host an Event page. We match you with vessels, sort the paperwork and keep the logistics shipshape while you bring the people.
