Community guidelines

Last updated October 22, 2026

Crews are for people who love the horizon. We want them to feel like a good table at the back of the bar: friendly, helpful and a little silly. These guidelines are how we keep them that way. They apply to posts, comments, messages, profiles and listings.

Be kind

  • Treat people the way you would on a ship where you will see them at breakfast.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats or hate. Do not target people for who they are: their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, age or anything similar.
  • Disagree with ideas, not people.

Keep it real

  • No spam, scams, fake giveaways or hard selling. If you host an event, say so, and post it in the Crew where it belongs.
  • Do not impersonate other people or businesses, and do not pretend to be a host or an operator you are not.
  • Be honest about events and vessels. Do not post misleading dates, prices or claims.

Respect privacy

Do not share other people’s private details, such as contact information, cabin numbers, travel plans or photos taken of them without their say-so. Do not ask for or share payment or password details.

Pictures, links and video

  • Pictures yes, video no. You can add up to four pictures to a post. To share a video, paste a YouTube link instead.
  • Only post pictures you have the right to share.
  • New accounts cannot post links for their first day. It keeps spam out.
  • Posts can be up to 2,000 characters, and comments up to 1,000. There are limits on how often you can post each hour.

Adult content

Adult events are for guests 18 and over, and their pictures are blurred until a viewer chooses to see them. Keep everything else on EventSeas suitable for a general audience. Explicit sexual content, graphic violence and anything involving minors are never allowed.

Safety

Do not encourage dangerous behaviour or illegal activity. If you are worried about someone’s safety at an event, tell the host or the ship’s crew straight away, and the emergency services if it is urgent. Then let us know.

Reporting and what we do

If something breaks these guidelines, use the menu on a post, comment or profile and choose Report. Pick a reason: spam, harassment or abuse, inappropriate content, scam or fraud, or something else. Our moderators look at every report.

Depending on what happened, we may remove the content, mute a member (they can still read, but cannot post, comment or message), suspend an account, or dismiss the report. Moderators can also pin helpful posts. Repeat or serious breaches can lead to a permanent ban. We can also block certain words automatically.

You are always in control of your own experience: you can block anyone, and a block hides each of you from the other in feeds, comments and messages.

Your posts

You can edit a post for 15 minutes after you publish it, and delete your own posts and comments at any time.

Questions or appeals

If you think we got something wrong, or you have a question about these guidelines, contact us and a person will look at it. Thank you for helping keep the Crews a good place to be.
